The application process for the Spring 2026 Annual Scholarship has now closed. Please check back for our next session in the Fall of 2026.

The Birmingham Bar Association Memorial Scholarship Fund is managed by the Birmingham Bar Foundation and is sustained through member donations in memory of or in honor of a loved one, family member, colleague or friend. Second-year and third-year law school students from Birmingham School of Law, Miles Law School, Cumberland School of Law, or The University of Alabama School of Law are eligible to apply for a scholarship.

To donate to the Memorial Scholarship Fund by check, please send your check payable to the Birmingham Bar Foundation to 2001 Park Place North, Suite 430, Birmingham, AL 35203. To pay by credit card, please contact the Foundation at info@bbfound.org).

Founded in 1885, the Birmingham Bar is one of the oldest local bar associations in the United States and is almost as old as the city of Birmingham itself, which was founded in 1871. The Birmingham Bar works to support its more than 3,100 members in their practices and to promote justice and public service. It accomplishes these goals by furthering the legal education of its members, promoting needed reform in the law, facilitating access to justice, and encouraging camaraderie, integrity, and a spirit of courtesy and goodwill among its membership.
